Giving Back, Together

Working Towards Better

Since Vega was founded, we’ve made it our priority to contribute to the communities we were built within. That means donating plant-based product to food banks, donating time to volunteer organizations we believe in, and empowering our people to do the same.

Giving Food

We’ve donated over 1.2 million pounds of Vega nutrition (including plant-based protein powders, bars, shakes, and snacks) across the US and Canada since 2013.

1.2 Million+

of Vega product has been donated to food banks, hospitals, and emergency services across the USA and Canada.

  • Quest Food Exchange & 8 Hospitals, Vancouver BC
  • Utah Food Bank, Salt Lake City UT
  • Second Harvest Food Bank, Nashville TN
  • Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank & 5 Hospitals, Toronto ON
  • 8 Hospitals, Montreal QC

COVID-19 Support

There’s never been a better reason to support our communities during these unprecedented times. That's why we've donated 70,000+ Vega® products to 43 organizations across Canada and the US. Including 13 food banks, 28 hospitals and 2 emergency services.

Giving Funds

While we pride ourselves on being an inclusive company with deep, long-standing shared values on diversity and inclusion, we know there is a lot more we can do. We know that actions speak louder than words, which is why we have made monetary donations to organizations that support the Black community.

Black Lives Matter

And so do our actions and commitments. We’ve donated $10,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, $10,000 to Conscious Alliance and $10,000 to Black Health Alliance. At Vega, we’re also committed to creating real change through more inclusive diversity in the workplace, with our athlete sponsorships, our partnerships, and in all our marketing and communications.

At Vega, we are proud to provide our employees with one paid volunteer day each year! Through our volunteer activities, Vegatopians are empowered to inspire change. Individuals can contribute to an organization they are passionate about or arrange a team volunteer day; this allows our Vega team to make a difference together.

Giving Time

We believe in giving more than just product: each Vega employee is allotted paid time to spend volunteering, either with the organization of their choice or during a company-organized volunteer day.

One Tree Planted

As a non-profit focused on global reforestation, One Tree Planted is committed to helping create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts. Every dollar donated equals one new tree planted. We’ve been donating to One Tree Planted for over four years through our annual Earth Month initiatives.

The Happy Herd Farm

Happy Herd is an animal sanctuary for abused or at-risk animals, including (but not limited to) goats, chickens, cows, pigs, turkeys, hens, ducks, and even a donkey. Through company-organized volunteer outings, Vega has been contributing to Happy Herd Farm for over three years.

Quest Food Exchange

For individuals facing food security challenges in BC, accessing affordable and healthy food can be a huge barrier. Quest works in collaboration with food suppliers to allocate quality food to those who need it.

Shoreline Cleanup

Trash collects where water meets land, and the Shoreline Cleanup is focused on helping fix that by organizing volunteer groups to clean up the city’s shorelines. In the past two years, Vega has participated in three shoreline cleanups, and we plan on being part of many more.

Better Planet

We’re proud to be part of the B Corp™ movement, a growing community of companies committed to meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
